Sport Fishing

The Caribbean coast of Nicaragua is a hidden secret for those interested in someserious sport fishing. A wide variety of big game species can be caught on all types of tackle (spinning, fly, trolling) all year round. With expansive estuaries, inlets, and river mouths Tarpon, Snook, and Jacks dominate the inland waters. However, the grass flats and coral reefs of the Corn Islands and Pearl Cays create a haven for Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, and Barracuda. Roughly ten miles east of the Corn Islands is where the deepwater begins and the Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo action picks up. Right from the beach one can catch trophy Bonefish and Tarpon.
